OUR CLASSROOM

We offer a very unique classroom setting for the best learning experience. Our base curriculum is provided by the State of Michigan. One of the reasons we differ from other driving schools is the additional items we offer such as hands-on learning that includes a virtual reality simulator so your child can see how distractions such as texting and driving can affect their ability to drive.

We offer a variety of newer clean vehicles to teach your child in. These range from midsize cars to a crew cab pickup. On the road, we cover basic driving skills, from driving in the neighborhood to getting you on the expressway. We also want our students to have fun while they're learning. That's why we give them practical driving tips and experiences such as how to drive safely in busy parking lots, fast food drive-thrus, and how to pump gas. Our goal is to make Drivers Education a rewarding experience and accomplishment for our students.

We realize today's parents and their teens have busy schedules, which is why we have flexible scheduling for our drive times. Being a family-owned business we pride ourselves on treating you and your child the way we would want to be treated.

We look forward to partnering with you on this journey!

WHAT WILL THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE TO GET MY TEENS DRIVER'S LICENSE?

  • In order for your teen to be eligible for Driver Education, he or she must be a minimum age of 14 years and 8 months

  • Successfully complete Segment 1

  • Complete 24 hours of classroom, 6 hours behind the wheel, and 4 hours observation time

  • Pass the written exam that consists of 80 multiple choice questions which each student must pass with a 70% or better

  • Upon completion of Segment I, the student will receive a certificate to obtain a Level I License (Learner's Permit) from the Secretary of State. This allows them to drive with a parent or guardian in the car

  • The Level I License requires that they complete 50 hours of supervised driving with a parent or designated licensed adult 21 years or older

  • Students must drive a minimum of 90 days between receiving their Level I Driver’s License (Learner's Permit) and enrollment into Segment II. During the 90 day period, they must complete a minimum of 30 hours of the required 50 hours of the behind the wheel driving

  • Students must then successfully pass Segment 2

  • Segment 2 includes 6 hours of classroom and then must pass the State written test

  • After completing the minimum of 6 months of driving and no crash/violation for 90 days, students (age 16) can take their Road Test with a State-Certified Road Test examiner

  • Students who successfully complete their road skills test will be issued a skills test certificate. This certificate is not a license. You must submit your skills test certificate to the Secretary of State Branch Office to receive your Level 2 License

  • As a new driver, you can only drive unsupervised between the hours of 5 a.m. - 10 p.m. with only one friend in the car unless you are going to and from a school event. If you must drive outside of these hours due to employment or school events, the proof is required

  • While on a level 2 license, any driving outside of 10 p.m. curfew requires supervision with a parent or person age 21 or older with a valid driver's license. After you have held the Level 2 License for 6 months and you are 17, the Secretary of State will automatically mail to you the Level 3 License, which has full privilege
